Cortni was one of the first friends I had at Howard University. During my sophomore year, she “moved” in with me and my other suitemates because there was no more housing and she stayed for about a month. We had a great time together at Howard and although we lost touch and hadn’t spoken in several years, when I heard about her death, I was stunned and speechless. Rest in Peach Cortni.

is the collaboration the issue or the marketing of the collab?

commerce for the sake of commerce is definitely a bad look for such influential artists… but supporting a major brand supporting an artists cause may be a better and more logical option.

unfortunately their logic may be limited only to their own profit.

I often read your digests and contributions and am often stunned at the depth and breadth of what you are in tune to and exposed to and can offer vantage on.

KAWS is a huge enigma to me personally and to many people in the Graffiti/Art worlds…
